Quick Start Tutorial for YSD-260 Tissue Processor

Whether you’re a seasoned lab technician or a first-time user, mastering the basic operation of this Tissue Processor is straightforward. Follow this step-by-step guide to get your machine up and running efficiently, ensuring accurate and stable experimental results.

1. Unpacking & Initial Setup

After receiving the machine and unpacking it, first locate the initial position 1. Place the glass cups in positions 1 to 9, and the wax cylinders in positions 10, 11, and 12. Then, find the connection cables while the machine is off. There are a total of three cables, connecting the three wax cylinders. There is a corresponding wax cylinder interface on the right side of the machine. The three interfaces from top to bottom are 10, 11, and 12, corresponding to the connection of the bottom of the glass cups.

When connecting, make sure to do it while the machine is off. After connecting, lock the nuts, and then you can turn on the machine. During normal shipment, the default stop position of the machine is 11 and 12 because it is a double-wax cylinder setup. After connecting, turn on the machine's side panel with the green power switch.

2. Program & Parameter Configuration

(1)Program Selection

Use the program setting key to access 22 pre-set programs (10 on Page 1, 12 on Page 2). To configure a specific program (e.g., P3), simply click on the P3 option.

(2)Vacuum Function Control

A small indicator light reflects the vacuum status: green means the vacuum function is active at the current position; red means it’s disabled.

(3)Time Setting

Time parameters are set in minutes. For example:1. To set a 30-minute dehydration cycle at position 1, input “30”—the indicator will turn green to confirm activation.2. To set a 1.5-hour cycle, input “90” and save the setting.

(4)Wax Temperature & Advanced Settings

Adjust the wax temperature in the dedicated setting area under the setting key (factory default: 65℃).Note: The machine also features secondary encrypted parameters (e.g., freezing time, liquid dripping duration, wax temperature deviation, vacuum & stirring intervals). Do not modify these values arbitrarily, as improper adjustments may disrupt machine performance.

3. Basic Operation & Running Modes

(1)Position Adjustment

The main interface displays the duration of each step in the current program. To move the basket from a fixed position (e.g., position 12 to position 2), input the target position “2” and click the rotate button—the machine will automatically navigate to the specified location. To lift the basket manually, press the upward button, and it will rise to the top and stop.

(2)Basket Handling

This dual-basket machine supports simultaneous operation of two baskets. To remove or mount a basket, align it with the designated gap: lift and press to take it off; push it upward along the gap to secure it in place.

(3)Running Modes

Dual-Basket Mode: Select your desired program (e.g., P01), then click the positioning run button. The machine will automatically place the two baskets at positions 1 and 2, immerse them in liquid simultaneously, and start the cycle. It will stop at positions 11 and 12 upon completion.

Single-Basket Mode: Choose the program number and click the auto button. The machine will run a full cycle from position 1 to 12 with one basket.

(4)Scheduled Operation

For timed runs (e.g., starting on Monday night), select the program first, then input the target date and time (month/day/hour). Click the time off button to confirm the schedule—the machine will automatically start running from the preset position at the specified time.Recommendation: Scheduled operation is best suited for single-basket mode. Timing for dual-basket runs requires manual time calculation and is not recommended, as it may affect experimental organization.

4.Operational Demonstration

Take program P01 as an example:1. Select P01 to enter vacuum mode.2. For dual-basket operation, activate the positioning run mode—the machine will automatically move to position 2, submerge both baskets in liquid, and initiate the cycle.3. After descending, the stirring function will start (current setting: 2 stirs every 10 minutes). Both baskets will stir simultaneously during dual-basket operation.
